Can you imagine a summer without cricket on the radio? A winter without footy on the TV? Sport has permeated the Australian media for as long as we can remember, and the media have fashioned sports coverage for just as long; it's a relationship that nourishes both sides. But what are we, the consumers, really getting out of it? Is it promoting health and fitness or just creating unattainable body images? What about the violence and anti-social behaviour? What about women's sports, relegated to lacklustre timeslots? And is there just plain too much of it? In this program we look at the positives and negatives of this most convenient of media marriages.
