Description

Using a playful narrative structure, this program outlines the most common stylistic techniques of film language used to communicate with the viewer. The program highlights the importance of character, genre, and the cinematic techniques of mise-en-scene and cinematography, as well as the use of continuity editing and sound. With a script developed by Victoria Giummarra, author of Senior Media Workbook' and a Board member of ATOM (Australian Teachers of Media) the program is a necessity for all media studies teachers and students. The narrative is interspersed with discussion by Dr Mark Nicholls, Lecturer Cinema Studies, University of Melbourne and author of Scorcese's Men; Melancholia and the Mob.
