Students will see the steps in developing a new food product in the commercial world. We define five steps: 1. Marketing 2. Concept Development 3. Prototype Testing 4. Manufacture 5. Advertising Students will appreciate the entire process as they follow the concept to marketing of a reduced fat muesli bar, high fibre white bread, healthy margarine with canola oil. For senior students the food chemistry will be invaluable, while juniors will learn about production processes as the oil is extracted.
