In today's sporting culture, be it swimming, running or even vaulting, many of the athletes that capture our nation's imagination and inspire us all, are women. In this program we explore physical activity and its pertinence to women. We consider the benefits of activity in general, but also explore the specific benefits of exercise and activity during menopause, pregnancy and as a means of alleviating biological stress. We also explore the history of women in sports and help students to develop an understanding of the difference between women and men's participation levels in sport and activity. This program is both a practical and inspirational story for young women everywhere.
