Description

The ancient religion of Judaism is practised in many parts of the world, comprising an integral part of the everyday lives of Jewish people - providing a deep connection with rich ancestral traditions and observances. In this Australian-made, curriculum fit program we gain a fascinating insight into the lives of two Jewish teenagers - Anton and Naomi. For both, their faith is a very real and important part of their lives. We are invited into the homes and lives of these two Australian teenagers and learn out about their beliefs, rituals, worship, holy days and holy sites. We see Naomi's bar mitzvah - her coming of age celebration - and discover that in many respects, their lives are no different from any other teenager in 21st century Australia. Chapters: 1. Introduction 2. Jewish Beliefs 3. Ritual and Worship 4. Holy Days, Holy Sites 5. Holy Rituals: Becoming Bar Mitzvah 6. Judaism Through My Eyes
