Physical abuse is a terrible thing for an elderly person to have to experience. The trauma that it can generate can be lasting and the injuries sustained may never heal. It is made far worse however when the abuse comes from members of the elderly persons own family, usually an adult child. This program follows five such cases and examines how the victims have or haven't been successful in removing themselves from the harmful situation. We examine how these abuse victims still try and help their abusive children even though they find themselves caught in a cycle of violence.
