Using data gathered from a classroom testing scenario, this program of two parts discusses the results of the classroom testing and then reviews a correlational study conducted by students on the data. The program explains frequency distributions: bimodal, negatively and positively skewed, bell-shaped (normal curve) and measures of central tendency (mean, mode and median), box and whisker plots. Measures of variability: range, variation and standard deviation. Correlation: Positive and negative, scatter diagram, strength of correlation. Experiment: independent and dependent variables, experimental and control groups, hypotheses, random assignment, matched pairs design, experimental errors and extraneous variables.
