Description

The marine environment is a very complex one, providing a large varieties of different ecosystems and large varieties of relationships between organisms living together within those ecosystems. In order to explain the distribution and abundance of organisms, their biological interrelationships and physical limiting factors must be understood. During this on-location and interview based program, marine experts discuss the importance of the different symbiotic relationships, the environmental affects and pollution that can change and damage these ecosystems. Various marine communities such as those of the rocky intertidal, sandy shores, estuaries, hydrothermal vents, and the bathypelagic zone are explored in this lesson.
