Description

As we come to the end of this first series, what better way to celebrate than with music: the music of the spheres. Scientific giant Johannes Kepler arguably was the first to discover how the mechanical universe works and that it is very complicated. The orbits of the planets are eccentric, the sun is off centre, the planets speed up and slow down as they go around. Kepler felt that it could best be described as a continuous song for several voices. In this fascinating program we examine Music and the Heavens, Galileo's Influence, Falling Motion, Energy Conserved and Heavenly Harmony.
