Radioactivity is all around us in the environment, and we are exposed to it continuously. In this excellent program we explore the types of radioactivity, alpha, beta and gamma, what properties they have and how they behave. We explore the history of radioactive discoveries, applications in industry and medicine and the sources of radioactivity that we encounter every day. We examine the risk benefit analysis of irradiating food for use by the public and talk to people about their perception of radioactivity in their lives. This program is an excellent resource for all secondary students of physics.
