Young people respond in different ways in pressurised or threatening situations - most commonly 'fight' or 'flight'. This challenging program looks at common fears and phobias and how brain and body function when exposed to them. We examine and explain some normal fears and what is needed to help defuse and overcome them. Teenagers interact with a psychologist in a phobia clinic as typical fears and phobias are explained: public speaking, social anxiety, fear of enclosed spaces, test anxiety, panic attacks and more. The psychologist describes both short-term and long-term methods for controlling and ultimately defeating these fears. Methods featured include: deep breathing, meditation, desensitisation, medication and improving nutritional intake. Fears and phobias can be beaten - and this program shows how!
