This resource looks at the causes, effects and sustainable management of coastal erosion and deposition. Filmed along the famous limestone coastline of Holderness in the UK, the DVD provides classic examples of the different landforms and how they are formed, including: limestone caves, headlands and stacks as well as beaches and spits. It explores the challenges created by the coastline, both from erosion and tourism and how it is managed, including hard and soft engineering. It then goes on to evaluate the impact of the different management techniques, both on the different groups and individuals affected and in terms of the physical interdependence of the environments. The resource talks to local residents, businesses, farmers, visitors and politicians and asks is this coastline sustainable?
