Can economic growth be environmentally sustainable? This is the key question facing our global community today. In this program we explore the issue first hand in Bangladesh, starting in the slums of Dhaka where the victims of globalisation explain how globalisation is affecting their environment and health. Next we talk to environmental activists, factory owners and government officials and ask what needs to be done to make industrial growth in Bangladesh sustainable? We then see how a company situated in a UK National Park, is facing the same challenge, but by reducing pollution, waste and energy consumption is reducing their carbon footprint while also saving money.
