Textiles make up around 30 percent of landfill. This program looks at how textile designers are meeting challenges from government and consumers to practice the all important 3 R's; reduce, reuse and recycle. This program provides inspirational case studies showing how shoes are made from old tyres and seatbelts, bags are made from recycled airline seats and high fashion tailoring is created from second hand shop finds. Designers talk through the evolution of their ideas, the design and development process, and discuss the future of industrial recycled textile design. An informative look at recycling at its best!
